Over Memorial Day I did a recon of the upper West Fork Oak Creek doing the first 3 miles of the canyon. Since my gear was not waterproof had to stop at the first legit swimmer. So decided to come back with the proper gear to handle the swimmers. We drove up on Friday and dropped a vehicle at the West Fork Oak Creek trail head in late afternoon.

This creek is stocked with rainbow trout and has a wild population of brown trout as well. Some of the browns in this small stream can go over 5lbs, with most in the 14-18" range.
